The Business of Aesthetics: Is It Still Worth It in 2023?

Hey guys and welcome back to the Medical Entrepreneur podcast.

My name is Adam Sewell, and this is where we teach you how to break free from traditional medicine, carve the career of your dreams, and still do what you love.

Are you considering a career in aesthetics but aren’t sure whether it’s still worth it in 2023?

It may seem like the market is oversaturated, and you may feel like you have already missed your shot at opening a med spa…

But trust me, that couldn’t be further from the truth. The business of aesthetics is booming and demand is only growing.

So no, you haven’t missed your shot. Now is the perfect time to enter the world of aesthetics. And I can help you.

Med Spas: The Future of Healthcare

Whether you are a healthcare professional or a patient, anyone who has set foot in a hospital recently knows that the situation is getting worse. Health workers are overworked and underpaid, and patients are not getting the care they need.

That’s why med spas have been booming recently. And they have also evolved to be so much more than just places where people get Botox or other cosmetic treatments. Today, med spas offer a wide range of treatments such as hormone replacement, weight loss, functional medicine, alternative treatments, and so on.

Insurance vs. Cash

A big part of the reason why med spas are gaining in popularity is that people are starting to prefer a cash-based system

On one hand, we have medical professionals who want to break free from the golden handcuffs, and on the other, we have patients, who don’t mind paying a bit more to receive proper care.

You see, the corrupt insurance-based system is the worst option for the patient and the provider. Because at the end of the day, insurance companies will do everything they can to prevent people from getting the care they need in order to save some money. So, the only ones profiting off of this system are hospital corporations and insurance companies.

And since insurance is already expensive as is, and all treatments come at an additional cost, people don’t mind paying a tiny bit more to get treated at private practices.

How to Get Started

Starting your own med spa may seem very intimidating and overwhelming at first. But trust me, it isn’t. And compared to spending your life overworked and underpaid in a hospital, it’s well worth it.

And today it’s easier than ever! I’ve seen people get started with literally nothing. All they had was a website. And they were able to build an audience through social media, talking about aesthetic procedures. They were simply educating the public and building a base of patients before they even rented an office to treat them.

So, if you want to start your own med spa, there are tons of resources out there that can help you. A good place to start is the Medical Entrepreneur podcast, where I share tips for starting your own practice, interview successful medical entrepreneurs, and talk about the ins and outs of aesthetics.

Make sure to tune in and let me help you kick-start the career of your dreams!
